I disagree because dedicated racecars get driven very little (because laws). I think its important for Odometers to rack up mileage. I'd rather have a super car that can travel at a speed similar to that of a race car, because I could drive it on public roads every day if I wanted to

Yeah but racing is like 100x more exciting than anything you can do on public roads. Those few miles are the greatest miles of your driving life. Plus dedicated racecars annihilate road cars on the track! The Mclaren P1 set a lap record of 6:40 something. In the early 1980s a Porsche 962 set a lap time of 6:11 seconds. It is still the fastest lap time recorded on the ring!
